About this role

HeyGen's mission is to make visual storytelling accessible to all by building technology that equips people to create scalable videos. We're hiring a Lifecycle Marketing Lead to build and own the full system that moves users from curious to committed and keeps them returning. This goes beyond email ops to high-leverage programs across onboarding, activation, retention, and monetization.

Be hands-on in tools and close to behavioral, revenue, and usage data to make campaigns timely, relevant, and personal. Design messaging across email, in-product surfaces, and paid retargeting that guides users to value. Ship fast in Customer.io using HTML/CSS templating without dependencies.

Work closely with Growth, Product, Creative, and Data teams to define, build, and scale what works. Understand user behavior, identify inflection points, and tune journeys accordingly. Monitor metrics like inbox placement, conversion rates, and engagement to optimize performance.

Requirements

  • 4–8+ years in lifecycle, growth, or retention marketing at consumer-focused products
  • Strong technical fluency with email delivery, including how messages actually get delivered
  • Deep knowledge of email deliverability: inbox placement, spam triggers, domain reputation, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, IP warming
  • Experience with Customer.io, Braze, or similar marketing automation platforms
  • Fluent in HTML/CSS and templating to build and debug emails independently
  • Comfortable working directly with data (Looker, Amplitude, SQL a plus)
  • Builder’s mindset: think in systems, move fast, and care about craft

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate lifecycle system end to end, from onboarding to monetization, with measurable impact on user behavior
  • Design and build messaging across email, in-product surfaces, and paid retargeting that guides users to value
  • Ship campaigns in Customer.io, working hands-on in HTML/CSS and templating tools to move fast
  • Write copy that performs - intentional, clear, and timed to user needs
  • Run fast experiments on subject lines, content blocks, CTAs, and timing to drive engagement
  • Work closely with Product, Creative, and Data to understand user behavior and tune journeys
  • Monitor key metrics like inbox placement, conversion rates, and engagement curves to optimize
  • Maintain high standards for deliverability and sender reputation across all touchpoints
