Founding Demand Generation Lead

Freed

San Francisco, US · Full-time · $180,000 – $220,000

About this role

Freed is an AI-powered healthcare company on a mission to make clinicians happier by automating medical documentation. Since May 2023, we have acquired 26,000 paying clinicians and generate over 2 million patient notes monthly, backed by Sequoia Capital.

We are seeking a founding Demand Generation leader to own the discovery and validation of new growth channels. This is not a role for someone who wants to run existing playbooks—it's for a builder who thrives on experimentation, rapid iteration, and turning unknowns into scalable engines.

You will own the end-to-end experimentation lifecycle, from hypothesis formation to execution and reporting. You will work closely with internal marketing, sales, product, and engineering teams, and manage agency partners to uncover where to invest, double down, or divest.

We embrace a hybrid schedule with offices in San Francisco and New York City, where teams come together three days a week to collaborate, connect, and have fun. Expect intense, clinician-focused, and interesting co-workers who want to win.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in demand generation, growth marketing, or a related field, with a focus on experimentation and channel development.
  • Proven ability to thrive on experimentation, rapid iteration, and turning unknowns into scalable engines.
  • Deep understanding of B2B and healthcare marketing landscapes, including emerging channels and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to build and maintain structured learning agendas and translate results into investment recommendations.
  • Experience managing agency partners and cross-functional teams to execute high-priority experiments.
  • Proficiency with AI tools and automation to accelerate research, audience segmentation, creative generation, and reporting.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a builder approach—comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end experimentation lifecycle: ideation, hypothesis formation, test design, execution, measurement, and reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate potential new demand generation channels that could unlock incremental growth beyond current engines.
  • Design and run rapid experiments to validate or invalidate channel hypotheses before committing significant resources.
  • Collaborate closely with internal marketing, sales, product, and engineering teams to align experiments with broader go-to-market strategy.
  • Manage relationships with agency partners and external vendors, directing efforts toward high-priority experiments.
  • Build clear, actionable reporting that translates experiment results into investment recommendations.
  • Develop frameworks and processes for continuous experimentation that can be repeated and scaled as the team grows.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate every stage of your work—from research to campaign analysis and reporting.

Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule with three days in-office collaboration in San Francisco or New York City.
  • Opportunity to work with a Sequoia Capital-backed company at the forefront of AI in healthcare.
  • Direct impact on clinician happiness by building products that reduce burnout and automate documentation.
  • Work alongside intense, ambitious, and clinician-focused co-workers who want to win.
  • Rapidly expanding product offering with new products being built and used by thousands of clinicians daily.
