San Francisco, US · Full-time · $140,000 – $175,000

About this role

Brisk Teaching is the leading AI platform for K-12 educators, empowering teachers to deliver personalized, curriculum-aligned instruction at scale. As Senior Business Operations Manager you will own finance operations and financial planning across the company. The role drives budget accountability with department leads and manages vendors that keep the business running efficiently.

You will handle accounts receivable end-to-end, manage accounts payable and vendor payments, and administer the Ramp expense platform. Additional duties include owning sales tax compliance, supporting monthly close with the external bookkeeper, and preparing quarterly investor metrics and board-ready materials.

The lean operations team covers finance, people, legal, IT, and business operations with no layers of management or detailed playbooks. You will report to the Head of Operations, partner with a fractional CFO, and operate with high autonomy while using AI tools aggressively to stay efficient.

This environment rewards ownership and structure-building on open-ended problems. You will build financial models that inform spending and growth, lead monthly budget reviews, support annual planning cycles, and drive procurement improvements that reduce spend across the vendor portfolio.

Requirements

  • Experience owning finance operations end-to-end including AR, AP, and expense platform administration.
  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills for budget reviews and long-range planning.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to build workflows instead of relying on manual spreadsheets.
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy, identify needs, and drive initiatives to completion in a lean team.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, procurement improvements, and sales tax compliance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own accounts receivable end-to-end, including billing, collections, and reconciliation.
  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
  • Manage the relationship with our external bookkeeper, including monthly close preparation support and reconciliation.
  • Administer our expense platform, including program enforcement, policy compliance, and user management.
  • Own monthly budget reviews with department budget owners, driving variance analysis and accountability.
  • Prepare investor metrics and board-ready financial materials on a quarterly cadence.
  • Build and maintain financial models that support leadership decision-making and long-range planning.
  • Own vendor evaluation, renewals, and ongoing relationship management across the company's vendor portfolio.
