About this role
The Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) Strategy and Operations team empowers GCPA’s leadership to lead teams, make decisions, secure resources, and execute effectively. We create and implement long-term strategies to future-proof GCPA. This dynamic, entrepreneurial team thrives on innovation and collaboration.
In this role, lead strategy and operations for two GCPA teams or key areas. Empower VPs and leadership through business operations oversight, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives across the organization. Focus on informing users, advertisers, partners, and employees about Google's products and public policy approach.
Work in ambiguous, fast-changing environments with executive stakeholders. Foster cross-team relationships and influence decisions as a strategic thought partner. Drive a 'One GCPA' mindset by simplifying processes and sharing best practices.
Coordinate annual communications planning and business priorities. Ensure foresight on key communications moments for informed decision-making. Enhance GCPA’s impact through transformation initiatives and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in a management consulting, operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital or private equity role, or 4 years with an advanced degree.
- 3 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
- 2 years of experience developing business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.
- MBA degree.
- Experience with analytical problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and communicating findings to executive management.
- Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
- Ability to work across teams, build relationships, and influence executives.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice and counsel to GCPA’s Senior Leadership Team members, set teams up for success, and act as a strategic thought partner.
- Counsel GCPA leadership on evolving organizational strategy and operations, and craft and implement transformation initiatives.
- Foster a 'One GCPA' mindset by facilitating information sharing and best practices across the organization.
- Simplify processes and tools to drive operational efficiencies and savings.
- Coordinate and advance annual comms planning, facilitate definition and stack ranking of strategic priorities.
- Support annual business planning, secure and allocate resources, ensure effective budget use, and track headcount and team moves.
- Ensure ongoing awareness and foresight of communications moments to facilitate informed decision-making.
