About this role
As an Acquisition Account Director, you will be responsible for net-new customer acquisition by identifying, qualifying, and closing new colocation opportunities. This role focuses on prospecting, solution selling, and deal execution with Large Enterprise customers that require secure, scalable data center infrastructure.
You will prospect and acquire net-new colocation customers, identifying pain points related to uptime, scalability, latency, compliance, and cost. You will generate pipeline through outbound prospecting, partner referrals, and events, then lead discovery conversations to understand technical, operational, and business requirements.
You will own the full sales cycle from first meeting through contract execution, coordinating internal resources. Our Sales team is at the sharp end of the business, securing new customers from network and cloud service providers to major global enterprises.
Digital Realty delivers the full spectrum of data center, colocation, and interconnection solutions via PlatformDIGITAL®. You will represent Digital Realty at industry events, collaborate with marketing on campaigns, and meet or exceed quarterly and annual new logo revenue targets.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct sales experience preferred
- Proven success closing net-new enterprise accounts
- Experience selling complex, multi-year solutions (infrastructure, IT, or services)
- Strong discovery, qualification, and negotiation skills
- Ability to engage both technical and executive-level stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong territory planning and time management skills
- Bachelor's Degree required
Responsibilities

- Design and position customized colocation solutions including cabinets, cages, power, cooling, interconnection, and cloud on-ramps

- Coordinate internal resources (sales engineering, operations, legal, finance) to close deals
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that meet margin and growth targets
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual new logo revenue targets
