About this role

Our Internal Data team is on a mission to power decisions and applications across MongoDB, oriented around GTM, Product & Technology, Finance and HR. This role focuses on delivering scalable, insightful data products for the Product and Technology teams that build MongoDB products for external customers.

You will lead efforts to build, enhance, and scale data products like data pipelines, datasets, reports, APIs, ML models, and frameworks that form the backbone of our internal data ecosystem. Your day-to-day involves defining product vision and strategy, balancing quick wins with long-term innovation, and integrating modern data frameworks such as lakehouses and medallion architecture.

You will collaborate deeply with P&T teams, analysts, engineers, and senior leadership to capture business processes and pain points. As a trusted partner, you will prioritize solutions with direct business impact and drive the art of the possible, while also evangelizing data-as-a-product across the organization.

This role offers the opportunity to drive the vision for internal data as a product, with a focus on telemetry and product adoption, engagement, and churn signals. You will empower teams to understand customer behaviors and improve the end-user experience, enabling data-driven decisions that enhance product design and fuel innovation across MongoDB.

Requirements

  • Experience defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap for data products in a technology organization
  • Strong understanding of modern data frameworks such as lakehouses and medallion data architecture (bronze, silver, gold sets)
  • Ability to partner deeply with Product and Technology teams to capture business processes and pain points
  • Proven track record of delivering data products like data pipelines, datasets, reports, APIs, ML models, and playbooks
  • Experience with telemetry, product adoption, engagement, and churn signals to drive customer behavior insights
  • Skill in balancing quick wins with long-term innovation and strategic alignment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to evangelize data-as-a-product across diverse personas

Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for MongoDB’s Data teams and products
  • Evangelize the importance of data-as-a-product by creating repeatable and scalable data solutions tailored to business needs
  • Balance quick wins for immediate needs with longer-term innovation aligned with strategic goals, integrating modern data frameworks such as lakehouses and medallion data architecture
  • Collaborate deeply with Product and Technology teams to ensure data products address their unique challenges and workflows
  • Work closely with diverse personas — analysts, engineers, P&T teams, and senior leadership — to capture detailed business processes, user stories, and pain points
  • Define metrics and KPIs to measure success and iterate on continuous improvement
  • Build user-friendly documentation, guides, and onboarding materials for data products to drive adoption and ensure ongoing literacy
  • Announce new product features, datasets, and tools with tailored product marketing
