Join the team redefining how the world experiences design at Canva's San Francisco hub for US operations. As Design Lead for Education, establish long-term creative strategy across Product and Marketplace. Guide content that supports educators and learners worldwide.
Manage and mentor a team of Content Creatives including prompters, designers, illustrators, and motion storytellers. Oversee end-to-end content creation from concept to execution while expanding production funnels. Ensure all content meets learning, cultural, and accessibility standards.
Collaborate with Learning Experience group, i18n, and Product teams to align content with classroom needs. Build scalable creative frameworks and guidelines for K-12 audiences. Drive alignment in ambiguous spaces and set clear creative vision across groups.
Define what great Education content looks like at Canva and build reusable systems adopted at scale. Advocate for inclusive, age-appropriate design using insights and data. Enjoy flexibility to choose work balance that empowers you and your team.
Requirements
- 6-10 years experience in a similar creative leadership role and a strong creative background with ability to develop creative strategies and direction for varied user types
- Experience leading content creation with AI tools in creative workflows
- Experience leading content creation across multiple formats (static, motion, interactive)
- Experience translating data/user insights into creative decisions
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders (and/or external partners)
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing junior creatives (not just managing)
- Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
- Experience contributing to hiring and team-building
