Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain, seamlessly integrating recovery, reuse, and recycling to keep critical minerals in circulation. Founded in 2017, we're delivering low-cost, large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. from batteries we already have. The Business Operations Analyst supports commercial growth of our utility-scale battery energy storage business.
You'll serve as the operational backbone of the sales organization, driving data-informed decision-making and optimizing sales processes. Responsibilities include owning CRM for data quality and insights, developing sales analytics to track KPIs and forecast performance. You'll enable cross-functional collaboration to accelerate market penetration.
Expect to collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Engineering, Legal, and Operations teams on pricing, competitive analysis, and project execution. Support spans market prioritization, financial modeling for project economics, and RFP responses. Work in a fast-paced startup environment building systems from scratch amid ambiguity.
This role offers hands-on involvement in energy storage project development from contract to commissioning. Gain exposure to cleantech commercialization, honing analytical and project management skills. Contribute to sustainability by advancing the energy transition through innovative battery solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, or related field
- 1-5 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, FP&A, or operations roles
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel financial modeling and data analysis
- Experience with CRM platforms or willingness to become a power user quickly
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and drive cross-functional projects to completion
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex data into clear insights
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven mindset
- Scrappy, hands-on self-starter comfortable in ambiguity and fast-paced startup environment
Responsibilities
- Own and optimize CRM (HubSpot) to ensure data quality, pipeline visibility, and actionable insights
- Develop sales analytics and reporting frameworks to track KPIs, forecast performance, and identify growth opportunities
- Support market prioritization and segmentation analysis to guide go-to-market strategy
- Collaborate with Finance and Commercial teams on pricing strategy, competitive analysis, and deal economics
- Lead cross-functional project initiatives across Engineering, Commercial, Legal, and Operations
- Support project management of energy storage project development from contract execution through commissioning
- Streamline sales operations processes, including proposal workflows and sales enablement materials
- Build financial models to evaluate project economics, incentive eligibility, and commercial terms
