About this role
DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash building autonomous delivery robots from the ground-up and other automation solutions for the core delivery platform. As an End of Line Engineer, you will play a critical role in scaling production of next-generation autonomous delivery robots. If you have a passion for applying AI and robotics solutions in a service used by millions, we want to talk to you.
You will work with the Hardware team based in San Francisco and visit production facilities around the Bay Area. This role is in-office 3-5 days a week. You will create scripts, test equipment, and tooling to enable rapid end of line checks.
You will reduce the time required to validate the robot assembly process while increasing quality control coverage. Vendorize existing test processes to allow assembly workforce scaling. Work with leaders and engineers across Design, Manufacturing, and Testing to incorporate changes to design and assembly processes.
Be part of an exciting effort to develop and manufacture an autonomous delivery robot. Gain hands-on experience bringing up sensing systems, powertrains, and networks in a fast-paced robotics environment. Contribute to real-world automation impacting millions of users daily.
Requirements
- B.S., M.S., or PhD. in engineering, e.g. robotics, mechanical, electrical or computer science
- 5-8 years of industry experience working in manufacturing quality control
- Experience bringing-up and calibrating sensing or compute systems, high voltage powertrains, and communication networks
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus, Ethernet data logging & network analysis tools
- Experience with Linux scripting & test automation
- A working understanding of vehicle mechanicals and electronics
- An interest in or working knowledge of autonomous vehicle perception systems
