About this role
Forward is building the world’s most advanced healthcare platform from the ground up, combining hardware, software, and doctors. We are growing our hardware engineering team and seeking world-class design engineers with experience developing scalable hardware solutions from concept to production. As an early member, you’ll play a key role in building the future of healthcare.
Work closely with Product and Design to assess feasibility of new designs and define product requirements. Generate robust 3D models, renderings, and fully toleranced 2D drawings. Perform detailed mechanical analyses of structures, enclosures, mechanisms, and assemblies.
Finalize designs using broad knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes. Fabricate and debug functional prototypes to test designs. Collaborate with external vendors as technical owner throughout the development cycle.
Work with amazing people from IDEO, Amazon, Nvidia, Google X, Airbnb, Uber, and NASA JPL—everyone passionate, smart, and hardworking. Challenge assumptions, prioritize critical problems, and drive solutions with diverse expertise. Your contributions will directly improve the lives of others.
Requirements
- Experience developing scalable hardware solutions from concept to production
- Strong technical knowledge to solve mechanical design problems
- Proficiency in generating 3D models, renderings, and 2D drawings
- Ability to perform detailed mechanical analyses of structures and assemblies
- Broad knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience fabricating and debugging functional prototypes
- Skills in leading reviews and managing vendor relationships
- Deeply mission-driven with a drive for impact
Responsibilities
