About this role
Checkr is building the data platform to power safe and fair decisions, and we're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join Truework and help shape the end-to-end experiences that power income verification for mortgages and other lending use cases. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to design intuitive workflows for complex, high-trust domains.
In this hands-on product design role with high ownership, you'll drive discovery through execution, bringing strong craft and helping the team make great decisions through clear thinking and excellent communication. You'll own design for key Truework product areas across borrower, lender, and internal operational experiences, from discovery through launch and iteration.
You'll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment where you'll partner with Customer Success, Sales, Compliance/Legal, Data, and Operations to ensure designs work in the real world. The team thrives on solving complex problems with innovative solutions that advance our mission of powering safe and fair decisions.
This role offers the opportunity to design for trust and clarity in a sensitive financial domain, prioritizing transparency, error prevention, accessibility, and confidence-building UI patterns. You'll contribute to design systems and standards to improve consistency, speed, and quality across Truework while working with a company recognized on the Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of product design experience with a strong track record of shipping high-quality work.
- Portfolio demonstrates end-to-end thinking: problem framing, exploration, rationale, collaboration, iteration, and measurable impact.
- Comfortable working in complex domains where edge cases matter, with the ability to distill complexity into simple, usable flows.
- Strong product instincts—able to balance user needs, business goals, technical constraints, and timeline realities.
- Experienced in collaborative, cross-functional environments, influencing decisions through clarity rather than authority.
- Can independently plan and execute lightweight research (interviews, usability testing, concept validation) and partner effectively with researchers when available.
Responsibilities
- Own design for key Truework product areas across borrower, lender, and internal operational experiences, from discovery through launch and iteration.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define problems, shape roadmaps, and deliver high-quality solutions that align user needs with business outcomes.
- Simplify complex workflows (verification requests, document collection, consent/authorization, status visibility, exception handling) into clear, user-friendly experiences.
- Use AI-assisted design and development tools to rapidly prototype, validate, and implement lightweight UI changes in code to improve iteration speed and product quality.
- Design for trust and clarity in a sensitive financial domain, prioritizing transparency, error prevention, accessibility, and confidence-building UI patterns.
- Translate insights into outcomes by combining qualitative research, stakeholder input, and product data to propose, test, and refine solutions.
- Facilitate alignment with workshops, design reviews, and strong storytelling, helping teams move from ambiguity to decisions.
- Contribute to design systems and standards to improve consistency, speed, and quality across Truework.
Benefits
- Work on high-impact problems in a sensitive financial domain with a mission-driven team.
- Collaborate with a company recognized on the Forbes Cloud 100 2025 List and a Y Combinator 2024 Breakthrough Company.
- Opportunity to use AI-assisted design and development tools to accelerate your workflow.
- Contribute to design systems and standards that shape the product experience across Truework.
