Mercury

New York City, US · Full-time · $175,000 – $225,000

About this role

In 1954, architect Eero Saarinen designed a radically modern bank branch for Irwin Union in Columbus, Indiana, with glass walls, no private offices, and an open floor plan embodying transparency in finance. Mercury believes that level of care and craft in design has been lost in modern finance. We’re building a brand that brings it back through extraordinary products.

We’re a financial technology company helping people and businesses accomplish more with their money by turning banking from frustration into a catalyst for ambitions. We’re looking for a designer to shape how Mercury shows up visually, emotionally, and creatively across product and website. This role thrives in a highly collaborative environment where the best ideas drive progress.

You’ll shape visual design, motion, and evolution of emerging interfaces, lead with an AI-first mindset, and elevate brand expression through innovative visual assets. Help build our design system with comprehensive frameworks and documentation. Champion craft and clarity from sketch to production while balancing multiple projects.

Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with product and executive teams. Give and solicit feedback to raise our quality bar continually. Collaborate proactively in an environment valuing diverse perspectives, creativity, and innovation.
