The Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Agent Authoring leads teams building the next generation of Agentforce's authoring platform. Agentforce is Salesforce's agentic AI platform for enterprises to build and run autonomous agents at scale. This role is central to Salesforce's mission of driving customer success through AI.

Day-to-day, you will set technical direction for complex software systems and partner with Product, Design, and platform engineering to define strategy. You will uphold high standards through design reviews and mentorship while fostering a culture of experimentation with coding agents and AI-assisted workflows.

The team owns the full agent creation lifecycle from inception to deployment, building visual canvas editors, simulation and debugging tooling, and an AI coding assistant. They also develop AgentScript, an open-source language that blends deterministic control with AI reasoning, so agents are both intelligent and predictable.

Requirements

5+ years managing engineering teams, including experience leading multiple teams or managing managers.
Deep technical background in full-stack product engineering, with an eye for both system design and user experience.
Experience collaborating across product, design, and engineering functions to ship enterprise software.
Ability to hire, mentor, and retain exceptional engineering talent while fostering a team culture of ownership and craft.
Track record of strong execution with a willingness to dive into the details when it matters.

Responsibilities

Lead teams of 6-10 engineers building the next generation of Agentforce's authoring platform.
Partner with Product, Design, and platform engineering to define product strategy and roadmap for the agent creation experience.
Set technical direction for complex software systems and elevate the team's execution through ambiguity and rapid iteration.
Uphold high standards for engineering craftsmanship through design reviews, technical mentorship, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of experimentation with coding agents and AI-assisted workflows to enhance the team's productivity and innovation.
Drive the architecture and development of AgentScript, the open-source language that blends deterministic control with AI reasoning.
