About this role

Encord is the universal data layer for AI, helping 300+ AI teams train and run models on the right data. We index, curate, annotate, and evaluate data across the full AI lifecycle, from development through production. Trusted by Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath, Zipline, and more.

As an outstanding engineer, you'll push our platform to the next level at a crucial stage of accelerated development. You'll work across the stack, covering everything from deployment to styling, and take end-to-end ownership of projects from product design through monitoring and measuring impact.

You'll join a small, highly collaborative team that has built a product customers consistently rate as the best in the market. Members are veterans of both Big Tech and successful startups, and every member is impressive on their own. You'll often work autonomously but remain quick to collaborate on challenging problems.

Your work will have direct and tangible impact for customers and noticeably affect the company's trajectory. You'll tackle complex domains and immense scale with simple solutions, leveraging your expertise to solve challenging problems in straightforward ways.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing and maintaining multiple systems from scratch
  • Deep understanding of trade-offs involved in building reliable, performant software at speed
  • Desire to have tangible, high-impact outcomes for users
  • Comfortable moving across the stack and picking up new skills quickly
  • Ability to tackle problems without a predefined clear definition or obvious solution
  • Strong problem-solving skills from first principles
  • Team player who contributes best work and helps others contribute theirs

Responsibilities

  • Drive the product and team to new heights during a period of accelerated growth
  • Work across the full stack, covering everything from deployment to styling
  • Take end-to-end ownership of projects from product, design, and architectural decisions through deployment, monitoring, and measuring user impact
  • Work autonomously to make decisions and drive projects forward while collaborating with the team on challenging problems
  • Tackle complex domains and immense scale with simple, elegant solutions
  • Build not only software but a complete product, moving across the stack as necessary
  • Contribute best work and help others contribute theirs as a member of a high-performing team
