At Freed, we combine clinician love with the latest AI tech to create products that make clinicians happier. Our AI scribe automates medical documentation and is used by thousands of clinicians daily. We are backed by Sequoia Capital and rapidly expanding our product offering.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of product features across the full stack, from backend TypeScript to frontend React. You will adapt the latest AI models for our use case, contributing to training, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering. You will design experiments to validate product changes and ensure quality.

Our engineering culture emphasizes speed, responsibility, and independence, attracting top-tier talent. Teams are autonomous and cross-functional, including Product Management and UX Design. We work in a hybrid schedule, coming together in person three days a week in San Francisco to collaborate and connect.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in full stack Software Engineering.
  • History of consistent top performance and a desire for a mission-driven work culture.
  • Curiosity for LLM applications and familiarity with using AI for development (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor).
  • Familiarity with our tech stack is preferred: React, TypeScript, NodeJS, Azure, and SQL.
  • Proven ability to take ownership and drive features across the full stack.
  • Passion for improving healthcare and making clinicians happier.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of product features and drive implementation across backend (TypeScript) and frontend (React/TypeScript).
  • Adapt the latest AI models (language and speech) to our use case, contributing to model training, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and optimizing inference for latency and cost.
  • Design experiments to validate product changes and ensure the highest quality of our software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management and UX Design in an autonomous, empowered work environment.
  • Demonstrate a passion for our mission and dedication to making a positive impact on the healthcare industry.
