About this role

AXS connects fans with the artists and teams they love, selling millions of tickets annually to events from concerts to the LA28 Olympic Games. We're seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the team behind the AXS Marketplace, our third-party resale integration that sits at the center of how fans find and secure seats.

You will own the development efforts that power the Marketplace's underlying technology, partnering closely with your product counterpart to shape product direction and architecture. Your role involves sequencing work, derisking hard problems, making architectural calls, and scaling the platform to meet rapidly growing demand.

You'll lead a team of highly competent engineers, owning hiring and cultivating a culture where strong engineers do their best work and stay. The demands on the platform are growing quickly, and your job is to build the team and systems to stay ahead of that demand.

This is a high-growth, fast-paced charter where you will grow the people under you — developing engineers and emerging leaders so the team's bench deepens as the charter expands. You will bring enthusiasm, big ideas, and a desire to team up with some of the best and brightest in technology and entertainment.

Requirements

5+ years of technical and management leadership experience
7+ years of hands-on experience designing and building software platforms
Experience coding in .NET or Node.js
Experience working in a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment
Experience working with and deploying to cloud environments
Experience with logging, monitoring, and alerting tools and best practices
BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Communicate clearly, build trust with product and cross-functional partners, and keep stakeholders aligned through ambiguity

Responsibilities

Lead a team of high-caliber engineers, owning hiring, developing your people, and building a culture where strong engineers do their best work and stay
Own the development efforts behind the AXS Marketplace, our third-party resale integration that lets fans purchase inventory for the events they care about
Partner deeply with your product counterpart to shape the direction of the product and underlying technology, from roadmap through architecture
Set technical direction and bring clarity to a fast-moving, high-growth charter by sequencing work and derisking large initiatives
Scale the platform to meet rapidly growing demand while holding a high bar on reliability, performance, and quality
Make sound architectural decisions across a broad surface and keep the team aligned as priorities shift
Grow the next layer of engineering leadership by developing engineers and senior ICs so the team can take on more
