About this role
At Palo Alto Networks, our mission is to protect our digital way of life. As a Sr. Principal Software Engineer, you will own and shape the future of secure cloud environments using an AI-first mindset. You will lead cloud security automation, driving extreme efficiency to proactively prevent misconfigurations.
Day-to-day, you design and implement GCP cloud infrastructure including compute, BigTable, SQL, Pub/Sub, and networking. You lead weekly global production upgrade cycles and own end-to-end Kubernetes deployments from Helm charts to production rollout. You also manage production databases like MySQL, Redis, and BigQuery, and develop internal Python CLI tools to streamline operations.
Our engineering team is at the core of our products, constantly innovating and defining the industry instead of waiting for directions. We believe collaboration thrives in person, so most teams work from the office full time with flexibility when needed. This model supports real-time problem-solving and stronger relationships.
We need individuals who feel comfortable in ambiguity, excited by challenge, and empowered by the unknown risks. You will operate with high autonomy to innovate and implement cutting-edge infrastructure solutions that prevent cyberattacks. This is your opportunity to do meaningful work alongside passionate people.
