About this role

Padlet is building software for a good education—one that inspires curiosity, creativity, and community. Our software enables visual content creation and collaboration in millions of classrooms worldwide, and we are looking for Fullstack Engineers to build exceptional products for a billion people.

In this role, you will own and implement new features that touch multiple layers of the tech stack, from creating a beautiful search experience to adding delight through animations and micro UI. You will also make the web apps faster and more reliable by reducing JavaScript payloads and making network requests more resilient.

We are a small, venture-backed team of about 60 people serving over 40 million users across 200 countries. You will work with engineers like Linh Nguyen, who is known for appearing through pull requests and code reviews, and you will solve interesting concurrency, internationalization, and scale problems daily.

We value keeping you in flow with very few meetings, and we ship often. We try to solve problems creatively instead of throwing money at them, and we thrive in constraints. We also value beautiful code and are actively improving our processes as we grow.

Requirements

At some point in your life, someone has told you: 'you write good code.'
You know how to copy-paste code from Stack Overflow.
Bonus: you have a good sense of humor.
Experience with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, Elixir (Phoenix), or Python for backend development.
Experience with VueJS and Tailwind for web development.
Familiarity with React Native, Swift, or Java for mobile development.
Comfortable working with Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Firestore, or Snowflake.

Responsibilities

Owning and implementing new features that touch multiple layers of the tech stack, such as creating a beautiful search experience.
Creating delight through animations and micro UI.
Making the web apps faster and more reliable by reducing JavaScript payloads and making network requests more resilient.
Improving how we work by enhancing our component library or tools used to translate the web app into 40+ languages.
Solving interesting concurrency problems at scale with millions of active users.
Solving internationalization problems for users in over 200 countries speaking 40+ languages.
Shipping often and contributing to a culture of beautiful code.
